FREE athletic physicals will be offered at Iredell ISD on Friday, May 15th at 8:00 AM in the New Gym. Physicals are required for all incoming 6th, 9th, and 11th grade students participating in athletics for the 2026-2027 school year. Baylor Southwest Sports Medicine & Orthopedics will be providing the physicals.

Kyle Woody Named to 2025-2026 Academic All-Stars
We are proud to celebrate Kyle Woody, who has been officially named to the prestigious Smoaky’s Academic All-Stars team for the 2025-2026 season.

Being selected for this elite 20-member team is a remarkable feat that places Kyle among the top tier of student-athletes in the region. To even be considered for this honor, candidates must maintain a minimum 90.0 GPA, compete in at least one varsity sport, and demonstrate active leadership in school clubs and community service.

A Legacy of Excellence
Kyle joins a group that represents the absolute pinnacle of "student-athlete" dedication. This year’s team boasts an incredible overall average GPA of 101.6, proving that Kyle’s commitment to his studies is just as fierce as his performance on the field.

The Academic All-Stars program, presented by the Texas Farm Bureau Insurance and 365 Sports, has honored student-athletes for 39 years, raising over $750,000 in scholarship funds.

Congratulations to Kyle Woody for this well-deserved recognition and for representing Iredell ISD with such distinction!

🎉 May Day at Iredell ISD – Friday, May 8th! 🎉 We’re looking forward to a fun-filled day for our elementary students with inflatables, games, and lots of fun! ☀️🎈 ⏰ Early Release: This year, May Day will end with an early release at 2:15 PM for ALL students. ➡️ Buses will run at 2:15 PM ➡️ Please plan ahead for pick-up and transportation changesWe want to make sure everyone is aware since this is different from our normal schedule!

📢 STAAR Testing – Tuesday, April 14th We’re ready to show what we know, Dragons! 📝 Reading Language Arts STAAR Grades: 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th ✨ Testing Day Reminders: ✔️ Get a good night’s sleep ✔️ Eat a healthy breakfast ✔️ Arrive on time ✔️ Take your time and do your best ⏰ High School Schedule Adjustment: 9th–12th grade students will arrive at 11:30 AM (No buses will run for high school students at this time.)

8th Grade Parent Orientation is tomorrow from 3:30–4:30 PM in the cafeteria.
Please make plans to attend, as Mrs. Halbert will be sharing your child’s high school graduation plan, which will require your signature and approval.

📢 STAAR Testing – Adjusted High School Schedule

To help create a smooth and focused testing environment during STAAR, we will have adjusted start times for high school students on the following dates:

Tuesday, April 14th
➡️ Grades 9–12: Arrive at 11:30 AM and report directly to 5th period

Tuesday, April 21st
➡️ Grades 10–12: Arrive at 11:30 AM and report directly to 5th period
➡️ Grade 9: Arrive at the regular start time (Algebra I EOC Review)

🚨 Important Transportation Update:
Buses will run at their normal morning times, but will NOT run for high school students at the delayed start time (11:30 AM).
👉 Please make alternate transportation arrangements for high school students on these dates.

📚 These are still full instructional days, and attendance is very important.
