Iredell ISD is proud to announce that Halo Bell, a senior at Iredell High School, has been awarded 1st Place in the PROSE division of the annual Books on the Bosque Writing Contest with her original story, “The Brave Little Astronaut.” Halo’s exceptional work earned her a $275 prize and top honors among student writers across the region.

The Books on the Bosque Writing Contest is part of the Bosque Arts Center’s celebration of storytelling, literacy, and the creative arts. Students and adults from across Bosque County submit original works in categories such as prose, poetry, and art. Winning selections are chosen by a panel of judges who evaluate creativity, voice, originality, and craftsmanship. The contest aims to inspire young authors and spotlight the outstanding talent within our local schools and communities.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our secondary English teacher, Mrs. Boren, for encouraging our students to be involved and submit entries. Your support and dedication help our Dragons shine!

Please join us in congratulating Halo Bell on this remarkable achievement. We are so proud to see one of our Dragons recognized at such a high level!
