Spring Sports Flex Their Muscles For The Iredell Dragons


Iredell spring sports continues their dominance over everyone in the district this past week!


In tennis, both boys and girls win the district championship again!

Individual Placing were:

3rd place girls doubles were Sage and Macy

3rd place singles was Emily Wellborn

Regional Qualifiers were:

2nd place boys doubles Angel and Brayden

2nd place mixed doubles Kyra and Alex

1st place mixed doubles Ally and Colton

1st place girls doubles Alexas and Savanna 

1st place girls singles Kassie

1st place boys doubles Garett and Micah


In Golf, once again both boys and the girls won the Team District Championship! The girls took the top 4 placings and the boys took the top 7 placings

Individual Placings were:


4th place- Savanna Potter

3rd place- Emily Wellborn

2nd place- Kyra Coffell

1st place- Ally Johnson


7th place- Brayden Fletcher

6th place- Garett Fletcher

5th place- Jacob Guereca

4th place- Micah Wellborn

3rd place- Landry Proffitt

2nd place- Adrain Benitez with a score of 79

1st place- Colton Fowler with a score of 76

The Boys golf team also set a NEW school record with a team score of 342



The Iredell Dragon Track Team dominated the District Track meet yesterday in Hico. The Following athletes advanced to the Area meet this coming week.

On the girls side:

Vivi Benitez finished 1st in triple jump, tied for 1st in long jump, and 1st in the 100 hurdles

Ali Guereca finished 2nd in triple jump, 3rd in long jump, 2nd in the 100 hurdles, and 4th in the 300 hurdles


On the boys side:

Morgan Whitfield finished 1st in high jump, 1st in 110 hurdles, and 1st in 300 hurdles

Alex Argott 1st in pole vault

Adrain Benitez 3rd in 100

Hunter Sheffield 3rd in 300 hurdles

Garett Fletcher finished 3rd in high jump

Colton Fowler finished 2nd in high jump

Adrain Benitez, Colton Fowler, Garett Fletcher, and Morgan Whitfield finished 2nd in 4x100 relay
