I have taught at Iredell all my career, which began in 1979.  I taught junior high history, science, and Chapter I reading about ten of those years, which means I have a broad base of experience.  The rest of that time was spent in elementary school, mainly fourth grade.  I would love to teach through the 2009-2010 school year, giving me 30 years in the classroom.  What I will remember when I am in the nursing home will be the funny moments.  I have wished I had kept a diary, but so many of those moments you would have to act out, and would be hard to put in writing.  Kids are so surprising, and so amazing, and they never cease to astound me with the things they will say and do.  Laughing is a great thing, and humor is a wonderful teaching tool.

On a personal basis, my dear husband Tom and I moved to Iredell in 1977.  We never dreamed we would stay here, but it quickly became home.  Our three children, Sherry, Kristy, and Beau, all went to school here from K/PreK through high school.  All three have graduated from Tarleton State University.  Our first grandchild was added to our family in September, 2006.

We have a wonderful school, and I am so proud to be a part of it.
